We love David Rubín, but this one was a slog to get through. At least it’s better than the first Rumble (2014). The 2017 sequel has our heroes embarking on an adventure to an unknown land, so it fits our November theme.
Some observations: the tripod dog is slightly better than that one in Disney’s Strange World (2022), and every time I read the name “Rathraq” (the king’s name in Rumble), I’m reminded of the badass martial arts actor, Cynthia Rothrock.
