Rome, 44 BC. The Republic is in its death throes. Julius Caesar died this morning, stabbed by a mob of senators determined to bring down the man who wanted to become king. But why had Caesar chosen this very day to ask Quintus Falco, his bodyguard, not to accompany him to the Senate? Quintus will do everything he can to get answers.
