Can you believe Nerdcore Friday is a year old this Sunday, April 7?
In our first post, we featured DC’s iconic hero Batman. Today, we’re bookending our first anniversary with another legendary DC character: Dr. Manhattan, the blue stud from the Watchmen series.
The blurb:
For Dr. Manhattan, past, present, and future are one and the same. But as he observes the events of his life, do they remain the same? Or are they changed? The very fact of his existence may have altered the nature of what will or will not be…
All we can say is that we wish more mainstream comic books were like this, and man, mad respect for Adam Hughes for drawing a lot of dicks. Although we wish they were more detailed.
Oh, and some of the comic pages are indeed upside down, but for the sake of convenience, the detailed crops have been rotated. You’re welcome.
Original title: Before Watchmen: Dr. Manhattan
Writer: J. Michael Strazynski
Artist: Adam Hughes
Colorist: Laura Martin
Letterer: Steve Wands
Publisher: DC Comics (2012)
Dollsexposed documents full-frontal male nudity in comics and cartoons from mainstream and independent creators. The project was created in response to the longstanding imbalance in how male and female nudity are depicted in popular media.
Outside of Nerdcore, Dollsexposed creates mixed-media and miniature photography. Their work has been included in several juried exhibitions and festivals, including Tucson Erotica Art Show, Seattle Erotic Art Festival, Los Angeles Kinky Art Show, and Los Angeles Leather Getaway.
