We love this comic for so many reasons: it’s gloriously illustrated, the concept is original and fierce*, and it features unapologetically flawed gay characters. However, the constant child nudity and the resolution of the only sympathetic gay character leave a bad taste.
*Humans will still butcher one another, with or without White people.
The blurb:
In the 16th century, Europe fell victim to an epidemic that transformed humans into zombies. 500 years later, across the ocean, the Aztec people, untouched by the threats of colonization, continued to thrive. Their only connection to Europe was a group of strange men who arrived by boat shortly after the epidemic. Their surprising survival intrigued the Aztec emperor, who decided to send an expedition to unravel the mystery.
