Like many other comic books, Sambre was written by two straight men (Bernard “Yslaire” Hislaire and Yann “Balac” Balac’h), and it heavily objectifies the female body from a straight male perspective. But, we do get full-frontal male nudity from time to time, even somewhat obscure hard dick.
The blurb (translated from French):
Beyond time, beyond the hatred of men, the romantic confrontation between Bernard Sambre and Julie, like a glowing ember, radiates all its beauty in this comic book masterpiece. Yslaire writes with the dazzling words of passion and draws with blazing impetus this hymn to impossible love.
Sambre is the exact and perfect illustration of “Romanticism,” between the darkness of the soul and the burning of feelings. A monument.
