Gay Sex, Straight Sex, Dicks & Butts in “Muchacho”
We saved the best for last as we close this year's Pride edition of Nerdcore with a bang.
Butts & (Shadowy) Dicks (Humans & Djinns) in Three Wishes
Did you know genies were inspired by Persian folklore? They were then appropriated by Islamic mythology.
Dick, Butt, & Bulge in “Virgin’s Woods”
In honor of Women's History Month (which is almost over), today's Nerdcore Friday is by a woman named Béatrice Tillier.
Jesus’s Dick & (Satan’s) Butt in “Holy F*ck” & “Holy F*cked”
This weekend (well, next Monday) marks Yeshua's supposed birthday. And there's no better way to ring in this appropriated Pagan holiday than by featuring Jesus in his birthday suit.
Dicks, Butts, & Tentacle Sex in “Cosmic Detective”
Jeff Lemire never disappoints. Some of his work can be too reflective to the point of depressing, but this one has more comedic punches and is less nihilistic. Maybe it's Matt Kindt's influence?
Dicks, Butts, Gore, & Talking Dildo in “Devlin Waugh’s A Very Large Splash”Extreme
It's October and for this month's Nerdcore Friday, we'll focus on magic and monsters! Starting with our very own va-va-voom vampire, Devlin Waugh.
Bethonged & Nude Gods, Dicks, & More in “Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons”Extreme
Kelly Sue DeConnick wrote an absolutely thrilling and fresh take on the birth of the Amazons leading up to the birth of one Amazon in particular.
Gay Sex, Dicks, Butts, & Violence in Image Comics’ “Saints”Extreme
I always thought my six years in an all-boys Catholic school made me fall in love with the Christian myth and iconography, but maybe it'd already been cultivated way before that.
Dicks, Butts, Bondage & Tree Hugs in Humanoid’s “Bramble”Extreme
As someone who dabbles in armchair eco-terrorism, it warms my cold, dark, black heart every time I read stories about nature fighting back against humans.
Gay Sex, Dicks, Buttholes Vatican Edition (with Michelangelo) in Jodorowsky’s “The Terrible Pope”
The final entry of our Pride edition of Nerdcore Friday is Alejandro Jodorowsky's Le Pape Terrible (The Terrible Pope)
Dicks, Butts, Gay (?) Sex, & Queer Activism in “A Man’s Skin”
As part of Pride Month, we're highlighting queer comic books and graphic novels throughout June and A Man's Skin is one of my favorites.
Gay Sex, Dicks, & More Depravity in David Lapham’s “Caligula”Extreme
No one alive seems to know just who Caligula was or what he truly did, and David Lapham and team took the creative license and ran with it.
All the Dicks in Greg Rucka/Nicola Scott’s “Black Magick”
Greg Rucka can almost do no wrong, which is why I'm pretty excited about Heart of Stone.
